Hyler • For Wednesday 9/16 & Thursday 9/17

NOTES:   Grades have been posted on Skyward.  If you need help accessing your child's grades, please check with the guidance office. Please make sure your child has a 3-ring notebook that is just for social studies materials. I will soon be handing out information about our field trip to the Truman Library and Museum for the White House Decision Center simulation on Nov. 16 or 17.  The cost of the trip, materials, and simulation at the WHDC is $15.  A letter will soon be given kids and parents in October.  This money will be due by Monday, Oct. 26.  Students will be given the WHDC manual.  We will be doing four modules from this manual prior to our trip.

ASSIGNMENT: Foundations of Government test was started.  Since this is the first of the year from me for students, I'm going to give them 15 minutes on Wednesday/Thursday to put the "final touches" to their tests before we check them. We will also watch and discuss Obama's health care speech as part of the Executive Branch at Work unit. Even classes may bring cake (and other items to share) to celebrate our Constitution's 222 birthday on Thursday, September 17.
